Sara is a British-trained nurse who has worked in the maternal child health field for 20 years. She did her lactation training at UCLA and is a Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). Sara has organized pre-schools and child development programs locally.   Sara helps parents understand the importance of play – the child’s work- as verified by research in the neuroscience of infant brain development.  She understands that family life involving television, cell phones, electronic toys, and the Internet, offers less time and opportunity for playful interaction of parents and infant.  Sara teaches DayOne’s popular workshop, Developmental Play.  Sara has worked at DayOne since its inception and facilitates weekly new parent groups.  She offers her "common sense" support and counsel to new parents, who, she believes, know more than they think they know. Sara is married with three children, three stepchildren and eight grandchildren. Sara sees parents for one-on-one consults, for support with breastfeeding, sleeping, starting solids, and parenting to get infants off to a good start.

Caroline is a British trained midwife and heath educator specializing in Maternal Child Health with bachelor of science in Professional Development of Nursing. Having received her RN license in California, she has worked with moms and babies as a visiting nurse.  To enhance her expertise, Caroline obtained certification as a board certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).  Currently at work as a Lactation Consultant at DayOne San Francisco, she also teaches the prenatal Breastfeeding class and facilitates the transition of new parents by providing education and support in DayOne’s New Parents Groups.   Caroline is the proud mother of four children who have brought her great joy as well as insight into the practical elements of raising children. She feels privileged to be able to blend her own personal experiences with her professional to provide support and guidance to new families.

She helps families by developing a unique approach that takes into account family schedule, infant/toddler developmental needs, and parenting philosophy while keeping an eye on sleep deprivation, parental overwhelm and depression. Angelique's doctoral research is a mixed-methods study addressing the intersect between infant sleep locations/methods, postpartum depression/anxiety, and attachment, and her research is part of her forthcoming book. Angelique teaches the popular Let's Talk About Sleep workshop.
